Our Story
SproutSmarter exists for one reason: to help kids grow and learn, and to make parenting a little easier along the way.
Why we started
SproutSmarter grew out of a children's book. You Can Be Anything! was written to show kids that the future is wide open — that curiosity is worth following, and that who they become is still theirs to decide. That book is still the heart of this shop, and it is the first thing we'd hand a child.
Around it, we built a store of the things that do the same job in a different way: the toys, books and everyday gear that help a child notice, try, build, and figure something out for themselves.
How we choose what we sell
We are a small, curated shop, not a catalogue. Every product here earns its place against the same questions:
- Does it help a child grow? Open-ended play, early literacy, fine motor skills, independence at mealtimes or bedtime. Things a child grows with, not out of in a week.
- Does it make a parent's day easier? Fewer spills, fewer battles, fewer things to carry.
- Is it well made? We'd rather carry one good version of something than six mediocre ones.
When something stops meeting that bar, we stop selling it.
How we ship
Our products come directly from the makers and suppliers who produce them, which keeps our prices closer to what the things are actually worth. Orders are processed within 1–2 business days and ship across the United States. Shipping is $5.95, and free on orders of $50 or more.
If something goes wrong
Email us at sproutsmarter@gmail.com and a person will answer, usually within one business day. We have a 30-day return policy, and if an item arrives damaged or isn't what you ordered, we cover the return shipping and make it right.
